No wonder I am on sick leave

I have a chest infection with asthma complications and have been told by my Doctor to stay off work and not to do any at home. It is surprising that I have lasted as long as I have given the kind of life I lead living in hotels, working long hours, eating badly and not exercising. It is also surprising that my family have not yet given up on me.

Strange hotel

A Japanese hotel has become popular with some of my colleagues, but I don’t fit the rooms.

Japanese food

We had a big team meeting/workshop this evening. We held it in a modest local hotel that happens to be owned by a large Japanese company operating nearby and whilst the basic layout of the hotel is fairly traditional British, the restaurant and hence catering (generally) is Japanese. Team meal

Fast food junkie

I have a colleague who tells me he lives alone and virtually never cooks. He is missing out on so much.

Weekend break in London – part 3

All together in the Kings Cross Hilton – sometimes I miss the Marriott points more than others and this was one such moment (but the sister hotel of Crown Plaza London Heathrow is, I think, pretty good and better than many of the other hotels in the area so Holiday Inn points it is) –

Weekend break in London – part 2

The Sunday of the weekend was reserved for a Christening of my wife’s sister’s son, now one year old. This took place in Orpington. We had no car with us so needed to get to the church from the middle of London. We exited the hotel earlyish and grabbed a taxi to London Bridge. My

Free drinks in the club room

I decided not to work at the hotel this evening – I need a break, and should think about winding down ready for my holiday (the family get a big angry if I spend too much time thinking about work). I have just been to the club-room and had some free drinks. I rarely drinks
