So much for 24 hour car windscreen replacement

I got a stone chip on my window last Friday. Fortunately it was near the bottom of the screen located centrally between driver and passenger positions. By midday Saturday, a crack had developed from the original strike to a vertical length of around 4 inches. Still not obscuring my screen. I have a company car

The purse theft

My wife and youngest daughter came down to work with me this week. Well, they cadged a lift to the outskirts of London from me (and because of my knee problems got to have more of a lie in bed than they had originally anticipated). I dropped them off at a bus-stop on the business

My knee hurts

I was in danger of ignoring this for far too long. There was no obvious trauma to explain why my knee started to hurt when I got up after sitting for an hour or so. It first started a few weeks ago and it was a minor inconvenience that I was sure could be walked

Assault at the Holiday Inn

We were woken in the night by a fire alarm and then again by a member of staff banging on our door and accusing us of setting the alarm off. We hadn’t.

Hamlet

A brilliant new production of Hamlet staged in Shakespeare’s home town of Stratford-upon-Avon featuring a superb company that included leading actors such as the current Doctor Who, David Tennant, and former Captain of the Enterprise, Patrick Stewart.

The blocker to home working

The corporate intranet has a bit of a feature today on remote working that I have been perusing whilst providing TLC to an email recovery process I am having to suffer at the moment. My employer has a very positive attitude towards home working and is promoting this way of working. Sadly, it is not

Climbing out of the trough

A much better day than yesterday – I am bouncing back and seeing things more positively. Had some good support. Always helps.

Sinusoidal

I am in a trough at the moment on a diffiicult stage in a project and feeling depressed. Not like me. Usually I stay very positive and keep going despite problems and carry many people with me. Hope it is a passing moment.Can not help wonder if it is time for a change though.

Photographer’s rights abused yet again

According to one Police Community Support Office, taking photos of youngsters even if they are around 17 years old and causing trouble, is illegal and possible a matter of asault.

Midnight chainsaw

Our sleep was broken by hours and hours of chainsawing going on throughout most of the night in order for electricity network people to get at a cable to restore power.
