Weather

Lots of weather warnings today and some roads have ben closed up North. A few of my colleagues live in Scotland and are concerned that their flights might be very late of cancelled.

Inspirational photos

A fellow member of the Newport Photo Club forwarded an email to all members containing a collection of wonderful inspirational images under the collective name “one in a billion” on the grounds that all of them captured rare momements.

Dogs playing together

We recently acquired a second dog. Our dogs are both mongrels one mixed with Belgian Shepherd and the other with German Shepherd (i.e. Alsatian), very fit and smart (near the top of their dog IQ league tables).

Ugly fonts

My daughter can pee like a man

She has invested in a Shewee which lets her pee more easily when out and about in the wilds (such as they are in the UK).

This was on a while ago but made me laugh. Jason is one of the presenters of the Gadget Show shown on Channel 5 in the UK.

Nikon D300

I have upgraded my personal camera from the Nikon D200 to the Nikon D300. The fomer remains a superb, award-winning and highly regarded camera. The new model has some enhanced features that I think I shall be able to take advantage of at the level I have now reached.

Amazing new look

Back to work

Yipee… I am back to work today. Feeling pretty well (despite still having a few days left of my course of penicillin – I am not allergic to it, but do get a little bit of a reaction). Slept well last night and have pretty much stopped coughing – thank goodness. I am working from

New cameras from Nikon

Nikon have introduced new DSLR models, the D3 and the D300 (replacing, respectivelly, the D2 and the D200). From all the reports I have read, both sound outstanding. I have the D200 which is a fantastic camera that has received many awards and great acclaim. Naturally, I would like to have the new camera –
